ConnectingDirectors TV - CDTV

CDTV is the world's most fun funeral industry webshow, focused on industry trends, information, and products and how they can make funeral homes more profitable. Hosted by Ryan Thogmartin, CEO of ConnectingDirectors.com, the show has a very relaxed and personal feel as Ryan opens up to share his thoughts on the progression of the funeral industry by incorporating conversation based off personal experience as well as articles and news published on ConnectingDirectors.com. Aside from funeral industry news and articles, Ryan will also be doing hands on reviews of some of today's most popular funeral industry products.

Prevent Leaky Incisions, Innovative Product of the Year Nominee, Thanoseal

imageI had the opportunity to review a demo of this product at the ICCFA convention this past March. I asked if Thanoseal would send me a demo kit for the product so I could show it on CDTV. In think this product could be very valuable in the embalming process and save the embalmer valuable time.

ThanoSealâ„¢ Tape is a clear occlusive film sealant designed to seal incision, lacerations, abrasions, punctures, and leaking wounds. ThanoSealâ„¢ is not intended for use on living tissue.

Thanoseal recommends not using their product on living skin, but I was willing to sacrifice my forearm for the good of the product demo.

Question Of The Week - Are Online Directories Worth The Money?

imageAre Online Directories Worth The Money?

A recent lunch conversation I had with a fellow member of ConnectingDirectors.com prompted me to make this the topic of our Question of The Week.

Having an online presence is a crucial part of a funeral home being able to progress into the future and continue to serve their community. But what is the best way for a funeral home to build their online presence?

Should a funeral home pay thousands of dollars to be listed in an online directory and to use all of the features the company offers for the listing? Or is it better for a funeral home to use the many free resources available like; Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Wordpress, or even Flickr? I see positives in both options.

Watch the video below.

Honest Review of the 2010 ICCFA Convention - Video

imageUsually I write a long detailed review for some of the larger conventions I attended, but because the 2010 ICCFA Convention was so awesome I wanted to do something more entertaining, so I decided to do a wicked video review.

Overview: The industry is progressing and we all know that, but who is really taking the "changes" coming our way by the horns and staying ahead of the game? I know one thing for sure, if you attended the 2010 ICCFA Convention then you are stepping in the right direction. I was blown away by how progressive the association itself is and extremely impressed with the way they took their progression and intertwined it with the educational tracks and speakers for the expo.

For more details watch my review below...
