Does anyone watch this show? It is on the Discovery Health Channel. I think it is pretty interesting. If anyone watches it please give some feedback. Is it a fairly accurate show?

I think many parts of the Dr.G show are pretty accurate, having served as a county coroner for the past 16 years. However, as stated at the beginning of each show, many of the clips are a re-creation and they do not actually show the deceased during the examination (autopsy).

Her profession is a very noble one.  Pathogists and forensic pathologists are highly trained and educated people.  Most of them I hold in high regard.

Yeah ive watched it also, and love the show. I think most of the info is accurate and like said above they tell you most of the actual autopsy scenes are re-created. She seems very good at her job and dedicated to finding actual COD instead of justtaking the easy road out and putting Unknown or undetermined on the DC.

Dr. G. is the medical examiner for our local coroner's office. Her professionalism is pretty clear on screen, but what most people don't know is that she followed up an M.E. who had lost the respect of the local medical community and his colleagues.

Dr. G. is a breath of fresh air.

I also like her because she made some great comments about the quilted mortuary cot covers we sell and they've been seen on her show when Orlando-area funeral homes pick up bodies from their facility :)

The show is realistic and I do enjoy it.

The major difference with a large municipality is that the coroner has a staff to perform each function. The actual investigation is done /collected by investigators and reported back to the coroner or assistant coroner. All incidental paper work done by secretaries. Case report and initial exterior examination performed by the investigators. The actual autopsy and removal/weighing is done by dieners (job title varies). After which the medical examiner, coroner or assistant coroner would then dissect further and dictate to others. The case would then go to others for clean up and ship out.
