Hi All:

Recently I slashed my thumb and was getting stitched up at my local emergency ward. The Dr. and I were chatting about what I did for a living, once he found out I was a funeral director, he asked if I had a powerpoint presentation on what hospital staff should do to prepare a deceased for the funeral home. I do not have such a document. Before I go re inventing the "wheel" I thought I would post the question here and see who had such a document and hopefully have you could email it to me. I would really appreciate the help otherwise powerpoint here I come!!!!!

Thanks in advance!

Never seen a document like that, but this is what comes to mind:

Removal of all IV's/Tubes/Catheters and whatnot (I had one last year that still had the IV's, oxygen mask and whatnot still in the pouch!)

Would it be out of line to ask that if they can, clean the patient up a bit?

Just my .02

That would be too easy for the hospitals to do! I get so much crap from the hospitals sometimes...neckbraces, IVs, etc. All that does is fill up my red bag (which isn't cheap to haul away). It's their bio waste, they should red-bag it in their facility, not mine!!!!!

I'd be interested in seeing this PowerPoint presentation....
