was talking to some embalmers about this subject and they were very down on it. They said the techniques look to fake and it takes a lot of time to acomplish. I still think this is at least worth learning because of the few families that might want this for their service. Any Thoughts.....

I think that alot of times it looks fake also. When minor restorative art is done, it is not as bad. But when there is major reconstruction it looks to fake.
The question that I have would be that if you work on it without getting paid. How much time do you put into it before it becomes a loss of money for the funeral home?

If you look at the books they are still using in the schools. I cold not believe they had books that had been printed back in 1943. And looked like it as well. Now the materials were good but I have no idea when we stopped making death masks!!

Anyway I am always looking for new and exciting ways for RA beside duct tape and expanding foam . I was talking with a make up artist about some of our techniques and he really laughed at me and told me (the industry) was really behind in the times. Some of those who have joined living in CA and near hollywood have a real oppertunity to help bring this industry into the 21 centry with technique in latex and other types of art work done in Hollywood everyday.

I for one have tried the latex idea and still have a long way to go to perfection but Edison didn't invent the light blb on the first try either.
